Brookside Woolen Mill |

| Thayne and Michelle Mackey, the owners
of Brookside Woolen Mill and producers of Montana Green Insulation,
are retired organic farmers and sheep ranchers. They farmed about
2500 acres of organic crops and ran about 1200 head of sheep until
2008. Wanting to move the family closer to civilization and schools
for the kids, the Mackey’s decided to start the woolen mill into
full production and move closer to town. Thayne and Michelle are
still active in farming and ranching, having kept some of the sheep
as well small valley place not far from the mill.
Working with wool fibers and organic crops for the last several years, it was a short jump from the craft and hobby market to the world of green insulation. |
